AXA Equitable, a leading financial protection company and a premier provider of life insurance, annuities and related financial services, needed a unique signage system for their brand new state-of-the-art NOC center in Charlotte,NC. They were looking to utilize clean red, white and blue textures and surfaces, as well as eco-friendly elements wherever possible. The overall design was to be a nod to nature in the North Carolina region.
VGS’ in-house design studio, Studio D, created a beautiful, eye-catching signage system that both blended with, and enhanced, existing AXA branding and decor. In the lobby, a unique freestanding
pylon mimics the angled, red AXA “switch” logo element. Clusters of thin-panel, 3” deep custom LED light boxes, featuring distinctive lifestyle images, line the hallways. Freestanding digital information kiosks incorporate technology, while a unique “pixelated design” of the World map is used as a lobby focal point. The map — created using frosted multi-dimensional, layered, colored resin blocks in red and blues and placed on eco-friendly, reclaimed wood — visually positions AXA Equitable as a global entity. Large-format 3M murals are color-coded to showcase different zones
within the large building layout. An eco-friendly, bamboo-based wall covering was utilized to create dimension along the main entry corridor. VGS designed, fabricated and installed the entire project
