Why I’m Returning to the Heart of Publication Design

For years, Studio D has offered a wide range of creative services — from branding to logos to full campaigns. And while I’m grateful for every project and client along the way, something kept calling me back. A pull. A pattern. A knowing.

My best work… my most meaningful work… has always lived in publication design.

Annual reports. Research publications. Magazines. Workbooks.
The pieces that carry stories, not just visuals.
The pieces that need structure, rhythm, flow, clarity, and intention.
The pieces that have a lasting life long after the design is done.

So today, I’m excited to share the next chapter of Studio D:
A clearer, more powerful focus on editorial and publication design.

Why the Shift?

Because publication design is where my creativity and strategy meet.

It’s where design becomes something deeper than aesthetics — it becomes communication, documentation, and legacy.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of designing major projects like:

  • A 10 Years Post-Katrina publication for the Urban League of Louisiana

  • Research reports and annual reports for the Orleans Public Education Network

  • Workbooks, guides, and data-driven publications for organizations shaping their communities

Each of these reinforced what I’ve always known:
I love crafting stories that matter.

These aren’t just graphics.
They are histories.
They are messages.
They are impact pieces that speak for organizations long after meetings, events, or campaigns end.

What Studio D Will Focus On Moving Forward

This refocus is not a limitation — it’s an elevation.

Studio D now specializes in:

A. Annual Reports

High-level, data-driven, narrative-rich reports that show impact, transparency, and progress.

B. Magazines + Digital Publications

Editorial layout, feature stories, internal magazines, and digital issues designed with rhythm and sophistication.

C. Workbooks + Curriculum Guides

Educational, structured, and beautifully organized guides for learning, coaching, and training.

I’ll still offer select design services — including flyers, website customization, and templates — but publication design is now the core.

The Why Behind This Refocus

Because the world needs more than pretty graphics.

Organizations need:
Clear communication. Storytelling. Structure. Strategy. Credibility.

Publications do what social media posts can’t.
They show depth, expertise, transparency, and long-term value.

And the truth is…
This is the work I’m most proud of.
This is where I deliver the highest level of excellence.
This is where my voice, education background, and creative direction collide.

Editorial work is my lane.
Publication design is my craft.
And Studio D is stepping boldly and intentionally into that identity.

Who This Refocus Is For

This new direction is for:

  • Nonprofits

  • Schools + districts

  • Foundations

  • Thought leaders

  • Researchers

  • Creators with stories to document

  • Organizations preparing annual reports or strategic plans

  • Anyone with a message that deserves a thoughtful, editorial presentation

If you have a story worth telling — a mission worth documenting — I want to help you tell it beautifully.

A Final Word

Studio D’s next chapter is clear, focused, and purpose-driven.

Intentional Design. Crafted for Impact.
That’s not just a tagline — it’s the new heartbeat of everything I create.

If you’re ready to bring your publication, annual report, or magazine to life…
Let’s build something meaningful together.
